forget

forget

A Poem by Kaitlin Siobhan

I'm forgetting your face
Shortly after
It'll be your name

I've been medicated
For the pain
And for the nightmares

My world is now peaceful
Every memory is fading
Leaving me to start a new

I'm filling in the gaps
With liquor and
A bottle of pills

With a razor blade and
A bath

A rope and
A knot

The doctor handed me directions
To pick the best treatment
But with all this work of forgetting

I forgot
