The memories of the past flow through your mind like smoke

You're holding your breath ,only hoping that it is a joke 

You hold back the tears , not wanting to remember

Pictures flashing through your mind 

Like a movie on rewind 

Like a flicker from a candle, that doesn't want to burn out 

It'll keep burning ,until there's no oxygen

Don't feel suffocated by the very memories that haunt you

Blow that candle out

Press pause on the movies in your head

Don't let that flicker be whats anchoring you 

The past has nothing good to offer; If it is causing you to slowly die on the inside
