A soldier`s SacificeA Poem by PrestonWLA poem about my bro!!
You sacrificed your life,
And if you didn't die, All the things you had to see, Would often bring a tear to your eye. You died for our freedom, And never did we thank you, You gave your life for us, An amazing thing to do. You probably died being scared, Cold and in pain, But never did we think of you, Dying in the rain. You died far away from home, With soldiers that you knew, You were made to fight that war, When you didn't want to. When you died your blood ran, And mingled with Terrorist dead, The ones who shot back at you, Causing your bloodshed. Now you are gone, We thank you, But you died before we said it, So you never even knew. Those who survived are scared, Old wounds that still play, And the sights of death and pain, That never go away. You left for battle just a child, But soon became a man, When given a gun, And told to shoot the evils of the world. You received medals for your bravery, Protecting the royal throne, But you did what you had to, To ensure the safety of home. You will always be my heroes, Because you were so brave, And that is what I'll remember, When standing at your grave. © 2015 PrestonWL |
