Peter Pan Never Knew

Peter Pan Never Knew

A Poem by Aadhya Kumar

Peter Pan did not know

His lost boys would never grow

The eternal boy could never think

On why his lads were on the brink

Glimpses caught, now and then

In the faces of boys with minds of men

The routine, the cycle, the daily grinds

The never-death decaying their minds

The light of tink turning to shade

The star on the left starting to fade

But Peter Pan never knew

Until he felt the knife go through

Upon impending death, he knew the cost

His boys, now men, no longer lost
