Stomped On

Stomped On

A Poem by Annika Patrick

You had my heart. All I wanted was you. My heart ached for you when we weren't together. You were my knight in shining armor that every girl dreams about. I was crazy about you, and everyone knew it but you. I always wished you had felt the same way about me. Sadly though you never did. Instead you threw me out. Stomped upon my heart while it lay on the ground, you killed me inside. Gave me away like I was an old toy you played with when you were little. Now I'm here to say that even though it still kills me inside to not be your friend, I'm moving on, and if it weren't for what you did to me, I probably wouldn't be this closing to having this new friend, one who will always care for me, and never do this horrible thing to me. Together, we'll make it through. Forever and ever we'll make it, no matter how hard or even how easy. So, thank you for stomping all over me. I'm glad to have this new friend.
