On Clouds and SunshineA Poem by Precious ProdigalOn Clouds and
Sunshine by Rita Aiken Moritz Surrounded by the clouds above, dismayed by swords that pierce me to my very soul, the drops of rain were echoes from a heart that in its fragile state did not feel whole. I longed, as did a king from long ago, for wings to fly me far away from here and to a place where peace and rest are found; but more than that, a respite from my fear. Then I upon that silver phoenix soared away and looked amazed at white clouds so reflective. I had to ask the Lord what made them change. He answered, “Child, it’s only your perspective.” For on the ground, surrounded by the rain, with vision limited, I see my pain. But I can know the sun shines way above, and I can rest in God’s unchanging love. © 2013 Precious ProdigalAuthor's Note
