SUMMER SNOWA Poem by Olayeye Oluwatosin PreciousThe leaves whisper in the breeze The trees dancing slowly to its rhythm Warm breeze calling to caress my skin Tempted to feel its happiness, I jumped into the open air without delay With my hands widely spread Wanting to feel its warmth against me, I turned around in a playful circle And then, I saw from afar Milky fogs around me Again, I took another turn This time my curiosity sets in, All I could see is a vastness of white Breathing in air so fresh, yet cold This white noise wrap around me Its soft embrace melting my curiosity And just like a blanket, my legs and hands were covered in white Its the snow!!! What a magnificent sight!!! Just to be sure, I took a much slower turn As though controlled by the hands of a clock And I could see Bright colors all over me The soft whispers on the trees Calling on me I looked at my hand Staring at the white ball of snow in it How? I wondered It whispered back Yes!!!, it had heard me "It's snowing in summer " And with this revelation, I closed my eyes Eager to bask in this unusual beauty For this summer snow, I am ready to embrace © 2022 Olayeye Oluwatosin PreciousAuthor's Note
