Is it love or insane?

        

Mr.Sharma an Indian-born man of mid 40s works in a reputed organisation in America. Vidya, exotic lure blue eyes, honey-wheat long hair, cerebral,   daughter of Sharma has completed her school education. Shreya, sister of Vidya

 is of incomparable beauty completed her masters in Zoology. Shreya, hankers to be a model her interest in studies is less. Sharma from  a well groomed orthodox family is always against her desires.  On deputation Sharma has been posted for 5 years in India.  Family is much anticipated to move to a new place. Meanwhile, Vidya got an admission in a reputed institute in India for pursuing a graduation in Chemistry. Shreya thinks as it should be hap for her to be in India where it is easy to get into model industry.

July 2011

The anticipated day came Sharma and family started their voyage. Journey wasn't tiresome as all was canned. They reached Panoli. Panoli, is well known for its serene beauty, colossal mountains, evergreen forests and much more. Their house was located near to a lovely lake surrounded by meadows and woods. House is awash in brilliant colours. Whole family loved being there. Well, a week passed Vidya college opens on 14th; it is the first day of her college, quiet excited and tizzy too.  Vidya's mother, Geetha went to bed room  to wake up  her. Vidya, "it is getting late dear time to start Get out of your bed ". Mom, "Why do you wake me on wee hours!!! ". "Vidya , I know still ample time is there I do not want you be too late on first day of your college.  She placed the cup and saucer on table and left the room. Vidya started sipping the hot bed coffee it was  soothing her sore throat . She moved towards living room, switched on the T.V.  Albeit, her  favourite is music and cartoon today she is watching News program. It is insipid as always she feels after watching NEWS. "It is getting late Vidya", mom voice seemed to be roaring one for her. She brushed ,bathed had breakfast  packed books strewed on the loft and left home, started moving towards  bus stand. The distance between bus stand and home is little far. It takes around 15 minutes for her to reach there. Bus came and she got into it , she enjoys gazing out. Even few others joined her in the bus.  Bus reached the campus around 8.30am. Being a fresher, she felt intricate to find her class room. College peons and assistants helped her out. Her class room was on 1st floor of the building, she  dropped  bags in room , and went through corridor. Tring Tring...... an alarm buzzed "Fresher’s of all departments are requested to garner in assembly hall". All students made a rush to the hall . Meeting was all about formal introduction about the college and their imperatives and this continued for one hour. And then students dispersed the hall and moved to their respective classes. Vidya a prodigy seated in front table of the class. After a pause of 15 minutes lecturer arrived. Again , it was all about self introduction in the class. Vidya, sat beside a girl from Kolkata not so attractive, grinned  at her.  Being an introductory day classes got over around 12pm , Vidya bag-packed her book and started for the day. Vidya reached home around 2pm . She was overwhelmed in narrating the day to her parents. It was about her college, staffs and her new friends. She was full of hope as upcoming days would certainly exhilarate her passion for studies. A month passed, Vidya got acclimated to new environment and stood top in her class. Anand, a guy of common Indian features, co-student in her class is an ally of Vidya. Anand and Vidya IQ level is often claimed to be extraordinary in their class .  Apparently it is of no doubt that people of similar cerebral gets mingled easily.  Anand and Vidya spend their leisure hours together. Everyday their conversation will be crux of Chemistry in research ,life saving drugs, compounds and its properties. This stupefies their other friends how could both talk together regardless of their time on a single topic focused about Chemistry.

Indeed Chemistry fascinates both Vidya and Anand none can understand this!! .

 

 

 

Guatemala City

Deepak , chiselled nose ,rotund and rugged masculinity is a kin of Vidya. Deepak and Vidya are friends as well. As she moved to India he couldn't spend more time with her as earlier.   He is crazy of her. He feels as  life is gloomy without her. On flip Vidya thinks him to be a moron. Days and months passed being lonely and desperate for Deepak. At last ,Deepak decided to meet Vidya .

 

India

On reaching India, Sharma picked Deepak to home. Shreya and Geetha -Sharma's spouse greeted him spent hours talking about their life in Central America. Reminiscence of togetherness made them  elated. Albeit, Deepak was hearing their conservation his mind was wandering, desperately waiting for Vidya.  Deepak told them as he needs some rest and left the place. Deepak felt ruffled as he could not meet Vidya. It was around 11.50pm in mid night he heard some footsteps near his window, obstreperous winds blowing showed signs of heavy rain. Intrepid guy, moved towards the door now the sound of footsteps is more clear and audible than before. His heart beat  increased, he started trembling somehow managed to regain himself and opened the door. He screamed and swooned down on seeing a ghastly figure. The antic of Vidya has put Deepak in trouble. Vidya tried to resuscitate him.  Vidya gave water to Deepak and relaxed him told him as she worn the witch mask to daunt  him.   Vidya embraced Deepak, he was mesmerized  by her action as it was not expected. She whispered in his ears "Happy birthday". Deepak overwhelmed with joy thanked her in turn. Gloomy night, birthday candle light lit the room . Deepak enjoyed the moment. Next day morning he woke up late.  Meanwhile Vidya left for college. He got disappointed as she is not there. Deepak's solitude continued in India too! So and then a week passed. It’s time for him to return back to America. Deepak gained momentum and courage to express his desire to Vidya. He decided to pick Vidya from college. On reaching  the campus, he saw Vidya nearing towards gate. He felt as he reached at right time . She exclaimed his surprise visit ! She told as she needs his help to convey her love to Anand . Deepak  felt like his brain whirls after hearing it. He was completely heartbroken on hearing  he tried concealing his anguish. She introduced her friends to Deepak even Anand was among them. He pretended to nod his head and exchanged wry grin. He left the place giving excuses  in reality he was not interested in being with Anand. Vidya reached home earlier than Deepak and was waiting for him.  Deepak turned to be late . Next day Deepak packed his luggage to leave India, Shreya entered his room and told her long time desire about having interest on him.  Shreya was much aware of Deepak interest with Vidya. Deepak didn't reply he told her as he needs time to think of her proposal. Deepak left India within a week. Shreya accompanied him as she got an invite from director Mr.Caire for his new Film in Central America. This is the most awaited day in her life dreams.  Both reached Guatemala City . Shreya met Mr.Caire on the very next day. Days rolled on fast her project completed .Shreya is an adventurist planned returned journey via ship.  She left Guatemala City with heavy heart leaving Deepak alone and visited few other places along with her pals.  She returned back to India after 4 weeks.

 

June 2013

It was last day of  their college .Years has rolled on fast , it’s time for all to depart and decide their careers. Vidya felt getting degree is easier whereas departing her friends specifically Anand was an uphill task. Anand fretted too!! Love blossomed between the two in years  is about to come to an end in next few hours if it is not conveyed. He could not think of a life without meeting Vidya ever after. He knew as he is in love with Vidya even she was thinking about it but they have not exchanged their thoughts during college tenure. Anand at last expressed his willingness to marry his lady love Vidya. Vidya was frenzied this was the moment she has been waiting for and accepted it. Farewell party turned to be a celebration as a beginning of their togetherness.

 

 Meanwhile, Deepak couldn't cease thinking of Vidya moreover he wanted to say Vidya about his desire of marrying  of her. He decided to meet her and visited  India . He stayed in an inn not in his Uncle's home. He spoke to Vidya telling her as he wants to meet her. Vidya invited him to her home but he refused . Vidya agreed to meet him on next day. 29th October- Vidya went to hotel to meet Deepak.  Vidya ringed Deepak he did not respond. Vidya asked for his room number in reception and moved towards. Door slide was opened she saw Deepak posing on sofa and watching television. Vidya got furious on him as he did not pick the call somehow he convinced her. Now, the most waited moment for Deepak it is. He expressed his interest towards to her.  A serene atmosphere prevailed in room, Vidya was not ready for such a proposal in fact. She could not react at this moment. She left the place without sign of acceptance,  definitely there was a sign of stern disapproval. Deepak couldn't control his tears rolling down his cheeks . Deepak vacated the hotel and went home to meet Vidya again. Deepak didn't get a chance to speak with Vidya till the end of the day .

 

Next day was a usual one for all others in home except, Deepak. Still he could not come out of his grief . Geetha knocked the door of the Vidya's room, no response. She incessantly called her. Everyone in house garnered and was waiting for Vidya to open the door. Sharma called his maids to conducive him for opening the door.  With stern efforts they opened the door,  Vidya found lying on bed motionless. Parents were egregious  on seeing , tried waking her it’s of vain took her to hospital. She was declared to be dead 3 hours prior. Hospital authorities informed police about the case. Police enquired parents,  investigated her room there was no trace of evidence. They suspect it to be suicide. Still they couldn't conclude the exact reason for death they have to wait for an autopsy report.  Anand who is in outstation for seminar came to know about heartbreaking news. He broke into tears as his inamorata is no more. He started off to see her on reaching hospital all he could see is her corpse on bed.  Sharma & family though furious on him did not turn much of showing it on him. Funeral rituals were done,  everyone expressed their condolence to family during their bereavement.  Mr.Varun, Inspector was assigned to handle the case. Varun started his enquiry from Mr.Sharma, all information he could get is only about Anand. Sharma told him as Vidya had interest on Anand even they accepted for their marriage. Varun left  as he  couldn't grab additional  information from Sharma.

Varun was uncertain as how Anand will respond during his bereavement. Still, he approached him as he is the only fellow who can give him some positive clues for further investigation. Varun drove his jeep towards Anand residence. He passed through bumpy roads to reach the village. He started his enquiry about Anand in his precinct. He went to Anand dwelling ,knocked the door . A mid aged lady around 45 years opened. She questioned Varun as whom does he wants to meet. Varun asked for Anand lady took him to Anand room where he was lying sick on bed. He introduced himself to Anand . Varun expressed his condolence. He enquired about Vidya and their relationship. Anand responded well to all his queries. Varun left his home saying as will be back when required. Varun tries to fathom the motive of this case. "Is it a murder or suicide ?", he questioned himself. Varun wanted to re-examine Vidya house, soon he left there. He took permission of Sharma for examining her room. Varun checked her wardrobe, mattresses, sofa, books .... It was clueless. Her phone calls, mobile messages were also checked through which Deepak was brought in for enquiry. Deepak told Varun about the previous day incident. Varun was left clueless now all he believes that could help him is autopsy report which is expected to be given by next day. Autopsy report was handed over to Varun which states clearly as death is due to some rare poison and it is least commonly found in India.  Now all Varun could surmise is Deepak has killed Vidya.

Varun wanted to examine Vidya's room to figure out better. He reached their home and requested them for looking at her room again. Varun was taken to her room by Geetha. Room was immaculate, with few books strewed on table. Varun saw a dead frog lying near the bath tub in her room. Frog isn't a usual one; it is of bright orange in colour and seemed to be of rare species.  Varun  - though  entomology is his hobby even this amphibian sparked to be of his interest. He took polythene out of his bag and sealed the frog. He went through nook and corners of room nothing found to be suspicious. A week passed, investigation could not sort out a tangible reason for closure of case. FIR final report was prepared citing it to be suicide. Everyone believed Vidya's love was not accepted by her parents and to overcome grief she committed suicide and even few in family was suspicious about Deepak. Nothing was proven all were vague guesses.  Varun contemplated his analysis. He knew well something is fishy still couldn't find out what it is. Varun lay on his bed gazing through his window. He saw the amphibian lying in polythene. He decided to check on interest about this species to kill his time. He told himself, "couldn't find the exact reason for death at least let me see about this frog ". When he started surfing ,he got to know the privy of the frog. His clueless case seems to have got another point to proceed further. He rang up the doctor and asked him about the autopsy details . Now, he concluded it’s definitely a murder. Next day ,he went to meet Geetha to gather some information . Now all his data is ready for closure of case along with the name of murderer !! He went to Deepak residence on consecutive day to meet him and get certain things clarified. Even Shreya was along with Deepak in his residence. Shreya doesn't want to leave Deepak alone and she took the opportunity to get his attention towards her. "What the heck is he here", Shreya thought on seeing Varun.  Varun informed Deepak as he found the cold blooded murderer. Deepak was stupefied by his words still pretended as he is fine.

He asked calmly ," Murderer" U mean Vidya did not commit suicide .  Varun replied "Yes, she is murdered". Deepak ranted!! “Who the heck is it?”Multitudes of questions passed over his mind. Varun exposed the name as "Shreya"; she killed her using a poisonous frog which she carried all the way from Central America. The motto behind this killing is you she wanted to be with you and your love was always for Vidya. To turn your attraction she took an extra step forward and killed her sibling. “Shreya felt embarrassed and speechless, she accepted her guilt. Shreya was taken to custody. The mystery is now solved . Everyone appreciated Varun for his knack in solving the case. Varun chuckled and left. He knew it would  be hard to find out the reason if he would not have picked up the amphibian from Vidya room.

 

FIR closed stating, “Poison Dart Frog" a native origin of Central America, its venom is used for killing, Shreya- the murderer and motto behind this act was her love. 

Proof: Autopsy report citing the venom presence in her body, confirmation from her parents and relative about her recent comeback from Central America through ship, and self confirmation of murderer too”.
