The Indian Army

The Indian Army

A Poem by pragya gaur
"

By these words I just want to thank our indian army for their priceless sacrifices

"
We play holi with colours,
And soldiers play it with guns and rifles.
At the risk of their own life,
They give us comfortable sleep and life.

A soldier is never sure of his life ,
And will he ever meet his daughter, son and wife.
Hats off and a dozen of salute,
Is nothing above a soldier and his sacrifice.
Besides a soldier his family also compromises,
Children sometimes starve to spent time with their father,
Mother's sometime don't even get to see dead bodies of their only son.
And what to say about the love of a wife,
Her sacrifices and compromises are just priceless.
After death a soldier is only remembered for a month or two,
Media is told to stay away too.
Payment of his life is done by some amount of money,
Is that all our duty towards our indian army?
This often chills my spine,
And brings a million years in my eyes.

A great salute to the Indian Army,
From the bottom of my heart.
I would help them anytime if they need me,
With each and everything I have.

Your words of the sacrifice of both the soldier and their families holds true of all soldiers - of any country. This is one of your better pieces, and I'm glad you sent me the read request. My own husband is a disabled veteran (United States Navy) and I can relate to every word. Thanks for a good read and kudos for acknowledging this special group of people.

Please don't call me ji.
This brought tears literally. "After death a soldier is only remembered for a month or two, Media is told to stay away too. Payment of his life is done by some amount of money, Is that all our duty towards our indian army?"
I love these lines. The emotions are very well portrayed. Everything the soldiers do for us is priceless. Thank you for sharing. This message should be sent forward. Keep writing

You're welcome :)
I can't understand a soldier. War to me is mass insanity. What does that make a soldier but the slave of a madman serving an insane cause giving birth to lunacy.

Idea for another poem. Address the soldier in your psyche, put it in a paradox or a dilemma it cannot get out of and eject it from your psyche. No soldier ever was real to the mind of a dead one. Otherwise you run the chance you will always be troubled by your insanity even after you die.

Just an idea from an insane poet that finally admitted his insanity and went about dying to be free of his psychological demons in order to rid himself of all of them and become a sane man who happens to write mostly poetry.
