Dear Full Moon

Dear Full Moon

A Poem by Pragya Vishnoi

Dear full moon

A perfect circle
beaming with pride
In your dazzling light
dark spots you hide.

You wear pride
flaunting your beauty
but you are always alone
it is such a pity.

You arouse in me
never-ending desires,
make me restless
set my heart on fire.

I start envying the light of your glamour,
your beauty and panache
Standing in front of you
I start considering myself as only ash.

But as the night progresses,
creeping towards dawn,
my mind realizes
the fact with a yawn-
Your light is fake-dear full moon
and you become visible
only due to the mercy of flamboyant sun.
You can never shine by yourself,
and you always need one.

The virtual myth of your beauty breaks
and day lightens up my soul.
