Mirage

Mirage

A Poem by Pragya Vishnoi

Going by the lonely road
listening to my own footsteps
watching the dull brownish-
black color below,
I was not thirsty at all
till I hadn't seen you-
O Mirage!

My throat suddenly started becoming dry at your sight
and my tongue tortured
as if I was thirsty for years.

You promised me bliss by giving
water which I never desired.
I ran madly at you,
only to see
a hopeless and disgusting dusty ground.

I cried and yelled
        and
now I am dying O Mirage
by the thirst that
does not even exist in
real .

The theme of your poem seems to conclude that it's no use running after mirages. Mirage , in this poem , seems to have become a good image for things that cannot come to reality in our life . Therefore , your poems teaches every human being not to desire for fantastic dreams and keep within the bounds of reality . Nice poem .I like it .
