Father

Father

A Poem by Pragati Chaudhary
"

Major Missing

"

Flying above the Winds of wisdom

galloping over the instances of the past
there is a feeling so hasty and true inside my heart
so very deep and still new

When my heart sits silently on the window pane looking towards the sky;
It discovers the very star every day
It says that it shines in its own way
Different from the other stars
and why not
The Star was very brave and strong!

From dawn to dusk it glows, pretty faint when the sun shows
but, I still can reach it as close, because of it my life so finely flows
the star would always be there with me till the end of time
for its not only glowing and surviving in the sky but deep inside my heart and soul

So bright, so loving and true, it made my life forever new

I miss the Star
My Father; He’s always there, shining above!

A very poignant write, Pragati.

The loss of a parent is a serious blow to the heart. It is difficult to comprehend that someone who has been in our lives since the day we arrived, will no longer be ever present. The heart aches with every beat when they are no longer within arm's reach. But as you have written, they always remain in our heart and in our skies. Just looking down and sending us their warmth and light.

A lovingly written poem and a wonderful gesture and tribute to your Father. He would be proud and honoured to have such words written for him.

Courageous work.

Too good...and the pain your poem instills upon the reader is ecstatic and strong. Such is the power of words written from own experience. Is the poem really based on your personal experience.(btw If its a figment of your imagination...I bow to you with respect.)
