Fallen Star Character Actions

Fallen Star Character Actions

A Story by Leviathus Fortes

SCENE 1

One night, a star fell from the sky...

Rolling hills

On the left we see a boy standing in the distance

The boy is looking up

A star comes shooting down from the left of the page to the right

On the right we see a house

Sky Blue with white trim

A tree is by the house

A tire swing is in the tree

SCENE 2

A little boy came running across the field to where the star had crash landed.  The star had tears in its eyes.

We see the boy running across a mustard field towards the star

The star is crying

Its arms are stretched/spread behind it

SCENE 3

"Little star," the boy asked "why are you crying?"

The star sniffled as it wiped the tears from its eyes.

"I have fallen from the sky.  Soon my light will fade and I will no longer be."

The boy looks down at the star

His hands are on his knees as he hunches over

The star is wiping tears from its eyes

SCENE 4

"But that's what stars do," said the little boy

"I want to be back in the sky where everyone looks upon me.  I had a purpose then.  Now, there is nothing."

The boy is standing, yet leaning

His arms are crossed

His head is tilted

The star is looking up at the sky

Its arms are down

It has a frown on its face

SCENE 5

"That's not true," said the little boy.  "You did serve a purpose."

"I did?" asked the star.

"You did" said the boy.

"What purpose does a fallen star serve?" the star asked, while wiping its nose on its arm.

The boy is leaning forward happily

Both hands are on his hips

The star is angry and pouting

Looking down at the ground and wiping its nose

SCENE 6

"When you see a falling star, you make a wish."

"A wish?" the star asked "Why?"

"It gives someone hope" said the boy.  "It keeps their faith alive.  Faith against things that are beyond their control."

"It does?" asked the star

"Yes," the boy explained "stars fall all the time. It's a beautiful thing to see."

The star is curiously, with wonder, looking at the boy.

Its head is slightly tilted.

The boy has a half smile.

One of his hands is wrapped around the wrist of his other arm.

SCENE 7

"Have you ever wished upon a star?"

"Of course I have," said the boy.

"What did you wish for?" asked the star.

"My little sister was sick and not getting any better.  I wished upon a star, so that she may live another day."

"Did your wish come true?" asked the star.

"I don't know yet" said the boy "but I come out here every night and gaze into the sky."

"You watch to see them falling?"

"Every single chance," the boy replied.

The boy is now sitting on the ground.

He has one knee raised and his arms are crossed atop it.

The star is looking at the boy.

Its arm is on the boy's knee.

SCENE 8

The star smiled at the boy and then turned its head upward to gaze into the night sky.

"If I could wish upon a star, I'd wish just one thing: Imagining one's heart and the joy that I could bring.  A very noble cause to give and to do so selflessly, to trade your life to save another, to set another free."

The boy and the star both have their hands clasped as they look into the night sky.

SCENE 9

"That's a purpose" said the boy "and it always shall hold true."

"What star did you wish upon?"

"The star I wished upon..."

The star scrolls its eyes across the stars in the sky in one direction.

The boy does the same in the other direction.

SCENE 10

"was you."

The boy turns to the star. He is smiling.

The star is still gazing into the sky.

SCENE 11

A smile came across the star's face as tears rolled down its cheeks.  The little boy wrapped his arms around the star and they both shared a hug.

"Thank you for this gift," the boy said.

"No, thank you," said the star.  Then it closed its eyes and wrapped him tightly as its light did fade away.

The star is facing the boy.

Tears are coming from both of their eyes.

The boy and star share a hug.

SCENE 12

The boy picked up the star and carried it inside.  He walked up to a crib and laid the star next to his little sister's head

The boy has both hands cupped together, carefully holding something precious, as not to drop it. He is carefully walking towards a crib.

We are inside the little sister's room. We see the window with the light purple curtain.

SCENE 13

She started crying, something she'd not done in quite a while.  Then the little boy looked upon the star...and on his face he wore a smile.

The little boy is leaning over the crib with a smile upon his face. A grey, star shaped stone is lying next to the little sister's head.
