A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

Many faces is she wearing
When she's hanging around the crowd
She is guarding, so defensive
Always boastful, always proud

But on the inside, her demeanor
Which she allows not to be free
Is the true heart, her emotions
Hidden insecurity

If she allows you to see these things
Most people rarely do
She may find something of comfort
And that comfort comes from you

Be gentle, do not hurt her
For who she shows is not a fake
To give her trust is sometimes scary
She's very fragile, she could break

She'll find a slight rejection
If she misinterprets of a phrase
Even politeness can offend her
Throwing her into a craze

Deep rooted fear that's always eating
Into her mind and heart
Choose your words around her carefully
Think before you even start

Sometimes in a heated moment
When you're only showing care
She'll take offense at your true meaning
Then she'll go back right to where

The wall goes up, the mask goes on
She'll target anger right at you
Think your lying, you don't love her
No matter if you truly do

Then she'll start attacking
Her very special friend
One she allowed to see her true self
The only person she let in

You can try hard to convince her
Yes she is lacking to give trust
You're making fun of her, you're playing
She'll get you back, she will, she must
