My Dream

My Dream

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

I arise to the new day
The fog not yet lifted from my eyes
I blink, now clear vision
And the first thing that I see

My dream, slowly fading
As the image disappears
My hand, losing hold
Of the very softest skin

Like silk, so enchanting
I feel my fingers slide away
And that warmth is no more
I blink again, I'm now awake

I wander through my day
As I escape into my mind
Awaiting satisfaction
For that one moment to return

If somehow I have missed it
Thus means the presence is not there
The touch to heal my senses
Imagination runs away

Yet the days when two, connecting
Both souls share of the same space
Energies, of breath, a rhythm
Two hearts beating as if one

A blissful constitution
Frozen time, extended plane
Our own small piece of Heaven
To which we always drift away

Lost are we, for certain
Never wanting to be found
I embrace you, holding, loving
As you do the same to me

And when inside that moment
Spirits dance to song
Freedom from all judgement
Mutually reciprocate

The day now over, ended
And a parting of our ways
Fire burning deeply inside
Fills the void of yearning hearts

Heads lay down, now resting
Memories upon replay
Eyes slowly close, the best thing
Dream of my night, my morning, day

Good morning means that you are the first thought to cross my mind when I awake to each new day

Good night means that you are the final thought to cross my mind before I go to sleep
