The Bunny Hole

The Bunny Hole

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

Bunny was so shy
She dared not venture out
What if someone hurt her?
Just like they've done before

She had to build a trust
To let another person in
For Bunny always shielded her heart

So Bunny, she would hop
And cautiously she'd sneak
Until she found a soft, safe place where it was warm

Then she would hop down
Resting on a fluffy mound
And as she circled it
She felt it getting warm

And on the other end
Was a carrot, her best friend
But Bunny was too shy to say hello

The longer she would wait
Stepping back; to hesitate
Made her love that carrot even more

She was very glad
It was different; but nothing bad
Bunny loved this carrot with her heart

But Bunny was so shy
From every carrot, she would hide
So she slid down
And went inside
