Parlor Tricked

Parlor Tricked

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

You wanted me to chase you
But you never wanted to be caught
I grew tired of this game
I felt it had to end

There's a time limit for chasing
And I will waste no more of my own
Goodbye and good luck
With the next person who falls for you

Caught up in your web
Yet I untangled myself
From those laces wrapped around my neck
That were suffocating me

A fly trapped in your parlor
I foolishly had stumbled in
Casually you had kept tempting
So that you could feed on me

Although my wings were broken
I managed somehow to fly away
I left you standing in the distance
With your poisoned dripping fangs

Removing from you sustenance
I wont satisfy your needs
If your plan is to devour me
I'd rather see you starve

And now you're with another
Who is exactly just like you
Turnabout is pure fair play
You'll feed off each other till you die

Well written and expressed!
I went through a similar situation when I was younger
and what a waste of time, I guess we live and learn,
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!
