Try Harder

Try Harder

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

You're supposed to be my father
The one who really cares
But above all those who've had me
You were the one who was never there

If you will take the time to ponder
You should find that very sad
Between the step, the real, and you
You've been the worst I've ever had

You call yourself a father
Surely you, do boast
Out of all the ones I had
You're the one I hate the most

You were supposed to love me
And unconditionally too
A promise you have broken
So I think I'm done with you

If you want me back, try harder
Prove to me your worth
This pain leads me to die
And rot into this earth
