The Sun is Out

The Sun is Out

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

The Sun is out
The birds, they sing
Cacadas do their evening thing

The wind, it blows
Upon my face
Yet I question "Is this my place?"

Days are long, but life is short
If life is short, then why am I here
Because of things I hold so dear

People I love
The wind and rain
The Sun that shines
And sometimes, I have pain

But sometime soon
I will be in a stronger hand
For I am going to a promised land

A land of peace, a land of bliss
So from this life, what will I miss

A gentle hug, a tender kiss
I will surely miss all of this

When I am gone, don't cry for me
I will be in a better place, you see

Until then, I will laugh
I will sing
I will take what life will bring

Some I win, some I lose
It is up to me to choose

I want to be with the ones that I love
And live as hard or soft as I can
For I shall not pass this way again
For I will be in a stronger hand
For I am going to a promised land

So don't cry for me, don't shed a tear
Yet hold the memories and sing a cheer

The Sun is Out
Now it's playtime for nocturnals

Author's Note

Leviathus Fortes
My mother wrote this some time ago.

I am attempting to interpret so that I can fill in the gaps and make it whole.

The idea that I came up with, is to have this being read by a character in one of my stories.
