Fading

Fading

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

She's disappearing now
I can't recall the face
The voice, I do not hear it
But the words remain the same

Only now a memory
A feeling that I have
Am I losing you, is this the end
Please, don't go away

It's bad enough that you are not here
Physically, I mean
But from inside me, you will go
I want you to stay

This is hurting, I don't want it
What am I to do
This path I'm on, where is it leading
Does it take me back to you

Too much time apart we've been
My heart dies a little more each day
Please don't go, I need you with me
It's been so long since you were near

I can't stop thinking of you
Even if all moments fade away
I question what this makes me
And what I shall become

This is all that I have left of you
When gone, what happens next
No more seeing, hearing, feeling
Nothing but words trapped in my head
