DestinyA Poem by Leviathus Fortes
It's too late
To turn back time Yet we try anyway To go back to a day When we found happiness And we hold things in contempt Of things over with and spent The future here Still we're living in the past Clinging to those things Things we want to last Moving on Causes so much pain But dwelling on the past Feels futile, feels the same Hide emotions, we cannot Cherished memories we've forgot Yet they are still there Even if we aren't aware They have built us Into who we have become Whether good or are they bad May we be grateful for we mad Definition of our soul The very thing that keeps us whole Our heart is the true key Of everything we can be Do we follow on its path To live and love and laugh To breathe, even if there isn't air Still we find the strength, still we try to care Wrapped up in our own minds Whatever are they for Finding faith inside ourselves Fighting a spiritual war Is it too late Is it over now How did we lose our way Does it matter what we say Honest Loyal and true A trust and a respect Honor we should not neglect Self confidence Trapped deep inside A mask we wear upon our face Behind a role in which we hide No one can take it away Or take it for themselves That's not how it works That's why its called "self" Dare we do, to dream A lie, or something more Relish in our Hercule Will Reach into our very core Dreams are what you make them So make sure that they count Find their hidden truths What are your dreams about The true self that is in you The one you hide from all For fear that you find failure And not get up from the fall You drive yourself to have them Search for every clue Here's your chance, now will you take it Destiny is up to you © 2015 Leviathus Fortes |
