Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

If you could catch a dream
What dream would it be
How far are you willing to chase after it
And for how long

Would you let that dream get away
Thinking that it was out of reach
Put your effort forth
How badly do you want it

Do you imagine something beautiful
Is it always on your mind
Why not try, go out and get one
It's sitting there, waiting on you

Don't be afraid of what could happen
You have to take a chance
Or the dream will fade away
Then over time, will slowly die

I would follow mine around the world
That's how much it means to me
And I'll keep going til I catch it
I won't give up on my dream

It's something that I've always wanted
I just forgot got about it for awhile
And when I've finally got it
I'll hold it close, always

Years have gone and now I see
I almost allowed my dream to go
Never to return
A tragic fate for dreams, indeed

But my desire to go and get it
Gave to my life, new breath
So I cast away my bindings
Upon my ship, I did set sail

I went looking for a dream I'd lost
I should have always looked in me
Yes, I've finally got my dream
I hope the same happens for you
