Passenger

Passenger

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

Forever must I walk this earth
With these thoughts inside my head
Will I ever find the answers
To these questions before I'm dead

So many things have happened
Events that I cannot explain
The tracks seemed endless going down this path
With no conductor on this train

The engine's running smoothly
More than it ever has before
When I reached its destination
What is it that I'll be looking for

When I exit from this train
Will I finally get my fill
Or another question to an answer
It seems it is Semora, still

For it lacks definition
Yet it is always there
Does it have a rhyme or reason
At this point, why should I care

To forget is not a luxury
I can't push it away
My mind, it doesn't work like that
So what more can I say

My mind, it is inquisitive
To find answers, is its goal
Without, it feels lost in the dark
Feeling hollow, never whole

Forever shall I play this game
Or do I give up the chase
End the game and walk away
Will I'll ever find my place

Movement all around me
Am I standing still
Or is the world trapped by its blindness
Of what is there, of what is real

Pay attention, be observant
You can do anything
The future's there to create
What is it that you'll bring

A sign of hope, breathtaking
It's a perfect place to start
How do you bring about these things
It's very simple, trust your heart

The heart will never lead astray
Someone who is pure
And whenever you feel that heart break
Push forward and endure

Think of life as if it were a drink
Let it overfill your cup
When it seems that it has run out
Set it down, fill it back up

A thirst that you cannot quench
No matter how hard you try
So live life in the moment
You never know when you will die

Just one of life's many lessons
A little food for thought
Embrace yourself in knowledge
Indulge in all that you are taught

Enjoy each living moment
As if you were on a stage
Try to write the chapters
Don't skip to another page

Engage with all around you
Let it strengthen to your core
Realize that true connections
Are what we're really living for

And when you've found Nirvana
Then you have found your way
Treat with respect and be elated
No matter what others may say

You have found the person you will be
Now, what to do when you find this
It will either bring you pain
Or it will bring you endless bliss

The choice is up to you to make
So choose and make it wise
You can only hide yourself so long
Behind facade, a fake disguise

The true you, will reveal in time
Then everyone will see
When you look into the mirror
Is that who you want to be

I cannot speak the answer
I cannot give the clue
Only one can solve this
And that one, is you

Do you see, you are a passenger
Can you dig that deep inside
There are others, look around you
We are all on the same ride
