SoliloquyA Poem by Leviathus Fortes
Hello, old friend
We meet again How are you today I am here If you care I am existant everywhere You intrigue A feeble mind Explain this, would you be so kind Let me see I think I'll be Simply called soliloquy It seems you're not alone You have brought some friends Invite them, please, to join us So the fun, it never ends It is just you and I There is nobody else I am an inner monologue In which you speak, unto yourself I speak from the heart and mind I've always been this way Yes, I understand It's all about you, it's your day Pacific, I, undaunting Oh yes, I am aware But please stop with the rhyming Because I don't really care I thought you enjoyed rhyming I did at one time, I suppose Yet I find it really hard to talk to you When every conversation is in prose I can't help that I speak this way You do it all the time I do Is it annoying No Everyone loves it Hey You broke the scheme Now it's fallen apart You're the one who does this thing And has the gall to call it art I refuse to take place in this I will not participate I'd like to say I'm sorry to you If it is not too late Stop rhyming, please stop rhyming I can't take it anymore You realize you are a poem I have you here as metaphor Stop it, please I'm begging you When will you not speak in verse I'm sorry But I can't stop Words have always been my curse Then take a rest for just one day If you keep going You'll drain me dry Then I guess, my friend It would be best We part and say goodbye © 2015 Leviathus Fortes |
