Escape

Escape

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

Do I sit, trapped inside darkness
To ponder into thought
And question all of life's lessons learned
Even those that I have taught

Sleep seems like a sweet release
All the bad things leave my head
When I awake, all bad things do rush back
Am I wishing I were dead

The eternal rest, an option
Would it place my soul at ease
To be free of all attachment
As if a leaf upon the breeze

An escape from my opression
That is my one and only goal
To find that freedom inside
My mind, my heart, my soul
