Imaginary Friend

I'm told that no one sees it
But it's clearly standing there
My imaginary friend
Who is always by my side

People ask me what they look like
And I describe every detail
I want to make them understand
So that they can see them too

I'm told to tell the truth
That there's really no one there
I don't care if you believe me
I have an open mind

It's someone who is special
Together we do play
Always there when I'm in need
I love them very much

When I'm all grown up
And that friend fades away
I'll remember the times we shared
Because they were a part of me
