Too Much

Too Much

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

Sometimes it feels like too much
Is stacked upon my plate

Like a buffet, yet I'm not hungry
And all the food, it goes to waste

And then I finally realize
What it is I hunger for

My sustenance, not fleeting
My soul rich, yet I am poor

In the way of spirit
But never will it last

I step into the future
By remembering the past

I seek a light of guidance
To show the correct way

When I reach port, drop anchor
That's then, is where I'll stay

A chance, right now for freedom
If I can simply be

Sometimes it feels like too much
And that's as alright with me
