Honey Well

Honey Well

A Story by Leviathus Fortes

Let's go to the Honey Well
Said little baby bear
But first we have to finish chores
That is only fair

We'll gather snacks we love the most
Of those are bread and fish
When we arrive, we'll indulge
And eat all that we wish

Dessert is good, but don't forget
Keep this in mind, for goodness sake
To eat too much, would be bad
And cause a tummy ache

That is when your body
Says that it's too full
Know your limit when you eat
Make that your simple rule

Sweets are great, but sometimes
Sugar is not best
Don't overdo it with the snacks
So you'll be at your best

What you put into your body
Fuels you for the day
Only put in what is needed
That's what I always say

Lunch is packed
The chores complete
Let's go to the well
And we will eat

Okay little baby bear
Time to climb the hill
Sit upon a blanket
But only eat your fill

I'll use the honey as a spread
A fish that is all mine
And stuff it in between the bread
Making lunch, snacktime

They sat around the well
Climbing the hill was quite a task
Baby bear was puzzled
A question now to ask

How does the honey get here
I've never understood
I'll tell you of the story
It's very, very good

This is the tale
So sit and eat
We'll head for home
When it's complete

As the Sun came down
Day turned to night
And baby bear
Would sleep tonight

Rubbing both eyes
Full tummy, swelled
To now lay down, dreaming
Of the Honey Well
