Melted

Melted

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

As I gaze into this snow globe
Watching each flake as it falls
I'm reminded of a time long past
And it warms me up inside

A fire burning that will not extinguish
And is yearning to be set free
Placed there by a special someone
Memories I keep with me for all time

Though they are gone, they are still with me
In my heart and in my mind
The very places I consider sacred
I must invite you in for you to stay

A trust not to be broken
A hand I will extend
If you break this trust, we're over
Do not take lightly of this gift

For each one of us is a snowflake
We are special and unique
But some are like the Sun
And will try to melt us all away
