Choice

Choice

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

Pondering thoughts
Why do I have them
Are you to keep me somehow fulfilled
So many there of which I cannot list

I have a choice of take it
Or leave it at the door
But it remains, it's still the same
And the choice it matters not

So ponder on, yes, shall I
Perhaps one day I will know why
Until then I'm merely coping
To bring a comfort to the voice within

I say hello, my conscience
I'm glad to see you here, I know its been awhile
You've are awakened, you're renewed
Now steer me on my course

I will not become some monster
Like the world wants me to be
That's a choice, a choice called freedom
And I'll proudly wave that flag

For it represents to me
An ideal that is not dead
Others may have given up
But I shall never go away
