Gather Me

Gather Me

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

I thought leaving there would end the pain
But it is still here
So alone I feel, for they are gone
What am I to do with myself

Do I now descent into madness
My life altered from that moment
What now, what lay before me
The road that I now am forced upon

So clearly it's in my view
I see roadblocks everywhere I turn
But still I travel forward
Where is it that you take me

True wisdom do I seek
Alas, this game continues
And I see no end that's clear
Remove from me temptations

Guide me in your ways
I put my trust into you
Please do not let me fail
These visions I see clearly

If read wrong, why were they here
I finally have a purpose
And I must see it through
So gather strength

That's all I need
For I must prevail
Have faith in me as I in you
Do not let me break

Stand tall shall I, and look down
At the who I was before
I shall remember yes for always
And never I forget

Open road I've found you
Do you lead me home
A better place there and it's waiting
My heart now fills with joy

Stitch by stitch, it was put together
But someone pulled loose a thread
How long of time must I make spent
To piece back the tapestry
