Stand

Stand

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

What to do with myself
I don't know anymore
I walk a new path
I need to explore

I would not bow down
I would not tap out
I chose a direction
And pulled myself out

Out of the madness
Out of the jail
A place that was toxic
I swear could be hell

I will not keep silence
I'll stand for what's right
My bark is far worse
I will put up a fight

My teeth sinking in
I shall rip apart
I'll do it my own way
And do it through my art

A comfort I take in this
As I enter this new land
No regrets, I'd do it all again
And that is where I'll stand
