Mighty

Mighty

A Story by Leviathus Fortes

The wind is blowing stronger
My branches, how they sway
Weather, I must, to survive
Thus my place this is

Return someday, unto the Earth
At last to rest my head
Tired am I, and aging
I cannot reverse of time

Gladly do I stand here
Proud am I to be
I will not change, I know who I am
And forever shall it remain

Another season come and gone
The years, they've passed me by
I am the lone survivor
Now it feels as if it's my time to go

I know where I am wanting
Unsure if I shall reach that place
But I have trust, this Faith inside
For it is guided by my heart

Then I will be a memory
For who it mattered, I suppose
I made sure that I left my Mark in this world
Before my death, my legacy

Shall I arise again one day
Like a Phoenix from the ash
A second chance, to start anew
With this thought, I am overcome

My heart put back together
Without a doubt, now I await
Blessed I am to have life
For I live another day

May my roots stay deeply planted
Bringing with them stability
And may no other ever sway me
But instead, find comfort in my shade
