Bakin' BitsA Poem by Leviathus Fortes
Small little child
Why do you cry Why are there tears Coming out of your eyes You are not happy Of course I see that Would it help you feel better To put on a hat Then you'll imagine The things you could be Pick an adventure Set yourself free Pure imagination Can take you so far The sky has no limit And you are the star Trust in your heart As well as your mind The greatest reward Is the you that you find Will you be a baker Building donuts and cake What kind of confections Will you come to make Maybe a struessel Or something with brie I'm thinking cheesecake To go with my tea Some people have cookies A pie or a tart But you are the dreamer Show me your art Can you build a bunt cake Or creme bru lee Make a bread pudding Or perhaps a souffle White chocolate brownies I admit that sounds good Use ganache as the glaze Do that if you would Cocoa almond meringue With the purest of ease I like Almond Joy Add some coconut please Ginger with some cranberry A muffin I guess Just make sure to have fun Even making a mess Buttered pecan Is a favorite of most Would it work as biscotti Could you put it on toast Now I am thinking Banana creme pie Chocolate shavings or curls Either way will be fine I like tiramisu Even strawberry fig Can you be creative How deep can you dig I think just a bagel Or even a scone A food to bring comfort So you feel like you're home Your mother said pretzel I wonder what kind Be it sweet or just butter And away goes my mind As for your crying Let's go with this hunch That was your tummy Saying it's time for lunch Now I know the reason That you felt blue A pretzel sounds good I'll have one too © 2015 Leviathus Fortes |
