Into the Unknown

Into the Unknown

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

I sit here in the silence
I hear the ticking of a clock
It's rhythm mimics my heartbeat
I close my eyes and think

Where is it I am going
How long until I will get there
All around me, only questions
And not one answer I can speak

Meditate I must, to find myself
Look inside to find a truth
Why am I, besides desire
What will my heart give to this world

Lost inside a darkness
No light that I do see
I want freedom, pure nirvana
How can I reach this goal

What must I do so that I may obtain
Something meant for me
Or sit alone whilst I just ponder
Is this all that I've become

No more comfort, I have stepped out of that place
I cannot go back, there's no way in
The door is locked, I'm on the outside
The key lost for all time

Yet I like who I now have become
I wish not to be who I was before
Here goes my heart, the fire burning
Into the unknown I now must go
