Adventure

As she walked away she stopped herself

The right side of her mouth, a smile

She turned her head toward my direction

A light trapped in her eyes

 

I remember it so vividly

Forever trapped within my mind

The last time I ever saw her

And sadly she said bye

 

She walked right out the door

Then she drove away

I wish her all the best in life

Yet still wanted her to stay

 

I want to find her again some day

A search that I will not give up

My friend, I finally realize

Of whom I dearly love

 

So I ask my heart to guide me

My feet to never fail

An open world I must explore

A ship that now must sail

 

Honor this, my memories

And never once shall I ignore

A fire burning deep within

And this path I must explore

 

Adventure calling out my name

And I, willing to go forth

No mountain shall be high enough

My compass points me north

 

Unknown, the things that wait for me

Scared I am, of course, no lie

But Faith is in the knowing

And I know I have to try

 

Give up should I, these vivid dreams

Close my mind and then my heart

Give up I say, that’s not for me

To begin, I must first start

 

To find a new beginning

One I now must create

Awakened for the first time, yes

A sign that never is it too late

 

So here I go again, just pondering

Where does this really end

That’s why it’s called adventure

And for that, I thank you, friend
