The Mightiest Heart

The Mightiest Heart

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes
"

Written in 1998

"
War hung like black cloud cover on a stormy night
Gelu and his lords, turned against him, on the field
Contemporary to the facts
Lewelyn rushed to his rescue
To be by his side
Mightiest of hearts could not keep them apart
Thunder struck
The gallant white stallion neighed
A sword struck down into the crowd
Hitting poor Lewelyn
Gelu arose to help
Lewelyn bled
And so he held her and he cried
Her love was pure and never unsure
An remains the mightiest still
