Ask Yourself

Ask Yourself

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

When you think of friendship
Isn't it how we engage?
Standing on the brink of something
"What If?" written on a page

A friend is someone who loves you
No matter who you are
To share with them your true self
Every triumph, every scar

But is not love the same thing?
Surely friendship has to be there
How can two spend lives together
If neither of them care?

A question more should ponder
Of Future, Present, Past
Although in life, most things will run out
But Love that's there, will always last
