When Oceans moved, the perfection of Earth defaced

When Mountains grew, the skyline changed unfazed

This is the green place we call home

 

When Dinosaurs roamed, the first killers they were

When Man came along, he was undeterred

No beast had ever seen the like

When the brain created both wheel and spike

 

This is the green place we call home

 

When words were voiced, roughly at first

When books were written, keeping us in touch

Great minds sprung forth ideas for all

When technology advanced us like a wrecking ball

 

This is the green place we call home

 

When Wars were more than just three letters

When countries vied to make each other debtors

There comes a time when enough is enough

When the future comes, our children will be tough

 

This is the green place they will call home

 

When everyone finally unites as one

When animals are no longer killed by the gun

Our future children will look back and wonder

“Why did they use Earth as a place for their sunder?”

 

That was the green place they called home
