DarknessA Poem by PoseidonExperience I had when dealing with a loved one and a major life event.Thought today was going to be like any other Until I got the call Words escape my memory The emotions however do not Hesitation mixed with intense grief Sobs, Stutters, Sadness All beckon me forward Rules seemed to fall to the wayside Only one thing became important Thoughts race in 360’s No solution in sight I arrive at her door step Heart running double time I come in to find you on the couch Tears staining everything around you Cheeks, Shirt, Wine Glass The sadness permeates the room Enveloping all within reach My first instinct is to make contact I wrap her up tightly in my arms I can feel pieces starting to slip away I can’t hold them together It’s overwhelming I look for words to fix what has happened No combination of phrases bring reason All I can hope to do Is send my positive energy to her But my light is swallowed by this darkness This darkness will never leave
But day by day it will recede © 2015 PoseidonAuthor's Note
