Hi, Michael,
It is nice to meet you here … I welcome you at the Café with a warm and friendly greeting.
In reading through your poetic offerings, I was captured by the title of this one and because it is a properly refrained poetry form … well done, too, I might add.
In spot-on rhymes and beautifully laid, smooth as silk syntactic iambic tetrameter, you've unfolded a rather poignant tale of love that was spontaneously tied, tied tighter by life's struggles, and finally by infidelities they "were" tied, sadly, no more.
The English Rondeau is an advanced, complex, and challenging poetic form few ever master, and you've created an exemplary, virtually perfect example for us to enjoy and marvel at, lacking only in proper punctuation.
Michael, I thank you most gratefully for sharing your excellent poetic skill with us.
Drop by my place for a visit; I'll be glad to see you … all the best! ⁓ Richard🖌

A Poem by Michael
"Of becoming joined at the soul, but parted by the physical."
Two souls were tied when first they met,
love blossomed and their future set.
Their lives entwined, secrets they learned,
a stronger bond the more they yearned …
an easy love, no cause to fret.
By fire and heat they moulded, yet,
the other's world became a threat.
A future life that must be earned …
two souls were tied.
Crossed lovers by misdeeds beset,
mistakes they make soon to regret;
consumed in haste, their vows they burned.
Love turns to pain, leaves scars they've earned,
but they that part cannot forget
two souls were tied.
well done! not going to comment on the form .. gives me head aches to look up .. but rhythm and rhyme and line all flow easy .. read it out loud right off .. todays world is in chaos .. there are teachings that proclaim the lack of moral foundation .. it the truth .. how deep a darkness says i! marriage and vows seem meaningless .. so so tragic .. the fruits of staying true are in the saying no to temptations to give up on each other .. reading your stuff inspires my thoughts and feelings ... see you 'round .. right here at the Cafe'
