A Troubled Soul

A Troubled Soul

A Poem by Lestat de Lioncourt

Square pegs and round holes.
Cats on dog shoals.
Evil spirits in cathedrals.
Does it make sense?
Of course it does,
perfectly.
A soul-dier,
a brother.
I,
his protector,
and also his anchor.
If it not for me,
this world would think him a quack.
A vagrant.
Mad.
Why can't anyone see,
the pain he feels,
I feel it in me.
His yearning to be,
Free.
