Eye4AnEye

A Poem by Jennifer Pennington

And so i scribe
neat little misfortunes
in straight, horizontal lines
haphazard hysteria
wrapped in sweets & sarcasm
an upstanding, young citizen
to the mundane eye
the dark, shadowy figure
at the back of your mind
whispering sick syllables
writhing with rage
ringing hells bells
and dancing in the flames

And so i design
Laced lies, and Pretty Performances
For your hungry eyes to feast upon
False hopes and dreams
are your desire
And im your synthetic sandman
Bringing you fear
Feeding you hatred
Suckling your sweat glands
and Loving the intensity
of your infection
You've got the posion
I've got the cure

And so i live
in your heads
in your beds
through the trees
in a breeze
in a sigh of orgasm
or a desperate cry
i live for each day
although each day i slowly
die
we all do, you know?
we are all a part of this slow
decay
....
and i portray
the life after death
faster, better, stronger, smarter
ethereal
powerful
wise
and still

Like a slumbering volcano
I am awaiting to fill you
with this hell
to cover you in this
rage
to bring you down with me
because its only right
an eye for an eye
RIGHT!?
an eye...for....

It has an abstract feel to it. By that I mean it's a poem that can be about a lot of things like revenge, anger, evil, cruelty, temptation, etc. I like the flexibility of this although it has a rather vague meaning.

Keep Writing. ^___^
