Us moths

Us moths

The trio lay cocooned
Together
Through the long winter nights
And hatched within seconds
In the warm summer light
They fluttered away dew
In the warmth of the sun
Played in the
Meadow of the day

As twilight fell
They danced alone
Yearning for some light
One to the flicker of a candle
Burned its wings
One to the glint of cat’s eyes
Was ripped
The other opted for
The loneliness
Of
The
Moon.

Such a delightful little poem! The first three lines of the second stanza are really quite lovely. Very nice write. :)

My only two, minor critiques: I didn't like the word "ripped" - it's very harsh, although that is probably what you were after. It just seems out of place here to me.

Also the title, I think, would make more sense as "The Moths" since none of the text seems to be from the moth's perspective. :)
