Silence

Silence

A Poem by Polly Lewis

Silence

A cooling breeze blows through my soul,

Fresh and fleeting, rushing through.

Broken pieces, autumn leaves,

Swept away by winters snow.

Skies are blue yet all is cold,

Frozen depths of crackling ice.

Stillness reigns and silence comes,

Bringing forth a fragile peace.

Fallen angel, broken wings,

Swirling snowflakes fluttering.

Hibernation burrows deep,

Beneath the hush my heart still beats...
