Who I am

I’ve looked inside and seen the truth,
My friends I know do not need proof,
The time has come to hold my own,
To rise above the flesh and bone,

The light I hold cannot be lost,
It fills my heart and pays the cost,

And all I need to heal is time,

I strive to give the best of me,
For friends and family I will be,
The person that they see so well,
And I am sorry that I fell,

But now I’m back to give my all,
Because of you I stand so tall,
Proud and focused on my task,
Unhappy thoughts left in the past

Ready now to find my way,
And from this course I will not stray,
For now I’m firmly on the path,
My strength restored to me at last.
