A Friend

A Friend

A Poem by PolarPaddy
"

Friends, we all have at least one and maybe several but sometimes one may turn out not to be such a faithful friend.

"

A friend who I felt was true and good,

Who had me comforted into a falsehood,

While, like all, we faced everyday strife,

My friend concentrated on their own life.
Learned from life and all revelations understood.

I know the very feeling you touch upon here. Betrayal only comes from those we trust. But I have been fortunate enough to have more than a few true, good friends in my life. Blessed is the word. Sadly, a few are dead and gone and I miss them every day. But day or night, no matter what, we were always there for each other. I enjoyed your poem. F.
