Better Off

I wrote this because it's what I feel. If a guy breaks up with you, then he doesn't deserve your tears.

Don’t lie to me,

When you tell me you love me.

Don’t look at me,

Like you expect something more.

 

You won’t get it.

 

Don’t treat me sweetly,

If you’re gonna ruin it later.

Don’t kiss me softly,

Thinking I’ll melt in your arms.

 

You won’t get it.

 

Don’t make promises,

We know you won’t keep.

Don’t hold my hand,

Then let go to see my tears.

 

You won’t get it.

 

Don’t leave me alone,

And think I’ll cry over you.

Don’t look at me from someone else’s arms,

Waiting to see me in pain.

 

You won’t get anything from me.

Not even my tears.

 

I’m better off without you.

Not the best thing I've written, and I don't really like poems that don't rhyme, but this IS how I feel. I'm not gonna cry over some guy if he's not worth my tears.

I think this is something that many girls struggle to understand sometimes: Guys are not worth your tears. Very strong wording with the 'don'ts'.

Again, chica, great writing. No, it didn't rhyme, but I think that in this instance, it didn't need it. It was powerful without having to rhyme. But I think every female (or male, depending) can relate to this in one way or another; I know I certainly can. (Haa, I think I relate to a lot of things you write, huh?) Keep it coming girl.
