My interpretation of this crazy pain I saw

The title is allusion to the poem my friend had written for me once that meant a lot to me, and this is my poem for her c:

The maze in the middle of a dusty road
Right hand on the wall, they said
I'll see you then, across the hall
Looming hedges, filled with dread

Kept awake at night, the fear
Of thoughts that you cannot control
They are but your own, my friend
The pulse of life within your soul

The maze in the middle of an endless road
We can end up anywhere;
Hold my hand, though I'm lost too
I don't want to see you scared

The light and the dark seem one and the same
Strength doesn't lie in controlling these feelings
I see in you, a true human being
One day you'll see their reason and meaning...

The maze in the middle of a dark, dark road
I can't see but let's keep going
The sun has never forgotten to rise
We must end up somewhere if we keep on walking.

Yes, the future is scary and far
Take out your hand and reach to the night
The beautiful world is dark and so cold
At least it gave us the courage to fight

The maze that isn't supposed to be here,
Now is the time to change it all
Let's watch it fall,
Once we get out, lets turn back around
And take it all down.
