During Flight EI0154
I pretended to be asleep. If you had asked me why, I would never have looked you in the eye, squirming against the singular possibility printed on your brow. Borderless, we soared. Nobody saw or knew. I pretended to be asleep as you felt each of the thigh shaking jolts of turbulence pulse through me. I wanted to crawl, wade, even run towards you in the current, wanting. Then, at the last wall, turn, kick, and hide I pretended to be asleep as you forged our unspoken agreement, the accountable day lingering over the empty seat between us. Your thumb slipped under my seams, my hems, my margins. You’ve scored new lines in me. © 2018 PoetryHealsAllAuthor's Note
